ENSURING A STRONG SMALL BUSINESS COMMUNITY
HASBAT, a non-profit organization, was founded in May of 1993 by local small technology companies to represent and promote the views and interests of small businesses in advanced technology and to support the development of opportunities within the federal, state, and/or local governments. We host training sessions, monthly meetings to include speakers from Government as well as industry, and present multiple awards and scholarships.
HASBAT is currently accepting nominations for its Board of Directors. New BOD members will begin their first two-year term in January of 2019. To nominate yourself or someone else to the 2019 HASBAT Board of Directors, submit a cover letter and bio/resume of the candidate via the online form found here. The cover letter should outline the value the candidate brings to HASBAT and the committee(s) of interest. Please see the HASBAT Bylaws and website for committee information.
SB ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR
Each year, HASBAT recognizes local individuals or organizations who have been instrumental in fostering a culture of identifying innovation in small businesses and partnering with those businesses to win government contracts. Awardees contributions may also have been demonstrated by activities and/or undertakings accomplished in advising and advancing business interests for local high tech small businesses. HASBAT awards three $1,500 academic scholarships to students from local colleges and universities each year. Our Awards & Scholarships Committee selects three recipients from a pool of candidates who apply through their local school. Candidates must be a full-time upcoming junior or senior and major in an advanced technology degree including, but not limited to science, technology, engineering, or math.
