SMDWG, Guest Speaker, Tom Karako, to brief the 2019 Missile Defense Review

There will be a special presentation for the SMDWG on Monday, March 25. Boeing will host the presentation at their facility located at 1200 Redstone Gateway Drive, Building 1200. Park and enter building from the North end of the building. Doors will open at 0800 for networking and the meeting will start promptly at 0830.

Our guest speaker will be Dr. Thomas Karako,  
Dr. Karako will present an overview of the 2019 Missile Defense Review.

Dr. Thomas Karako is a senior fellow with the International Security Program and the director of the Missile Defense Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where he arrived in 2014 as a fellow with the Project on Nuclear Issues. His research focuses on national security, U.S. nuclear forces, missile defense, and public law. He is also an assistant professor of political science and director of the Center for the Study of American Democracy at Kenyon College, where he arrived in 2009. For 2010–2011, he was an APSA congressional fellow, during which time he worked with the professional staff of the House Armed Services Committee on U.S. strategic forces policy, nonproliferation, and NATO. Dr. Karako writes and speaks extensively on national security issues, and is recently the author or co-author of Missile Defense 2020: Next Steps for Defending the Homeland (2017), Missile Defense and Defeat: Considerations for the Next Policy Review (2017), The Missile Defense Agency and the Color of Money (2016), and Thinking the Unthinkable in a Highly Proliferated World (2016).
